We had a really amazing weekend here. Bikes to Norrmans from Copenhagen. Was greeted with Champagne on arrival, spent some time just walking around talking in the experience of the interior and scenery. Have not been in a place quite like this, except of course Norrmans in Denmark. I can only recommend a visit and we will be back for sure. Food, wine and overall experience through the weekend was 10/10. Rooms are a little bit basic but I think that is because I’m comparing with the Danish version where the rooms are more extravagant. And also compared with the castle itself (our room was on the building outside). But still nice and clean. One thing I really wish they would improve: bread and coffee. Coffee was quite bad, only possible to drink if added milk. Bread was dry all days, was expecting a place like this to have some home made sourdough again maybe comparing too much with the danish Norrmans (which is also pricier) where sourdough buns are served freshly baked and coffee is Tim Wendelboe hard to beat.
Meal was Good but loads of salt flakes on most things which was a shame as otherwise would have been good food. Place really quirky but I felt the owners were forcing their ‘ cool dream’ on customers. Breakfast a choice of 6 things that were fatty and sugary mostly, bar melon. Lack of choice and my wife left hungry as she couldn’t eat anything but the melon. Beds comfy though which was good .
The castle is fantastically located and is just as awesome inside. The service and the food (we ate lunch) were top notchAlso cozy with suitable music playing in the background. Really recommended.
This is by far the coolest hotel l ever I have stayed at! If you get the chance, you MUST go there. Everything was amazing, and after a 5 course's, I experienced a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed. The only pointer I can give them is: lf they are looking for a Michelin star, the waiters need a little more training (not that it was bad but still).
