Wildwood Restaurant - Geneva

I can only describe my experience as weird. My wife and I are not from Geneva so we are not familiar with the area or restaurant. Apparently, there are two entrances to this place, one being the bar entrance and one the main entrance. There was no sign that we could see letting us know we were at the bar entrance. So as my wife and I stood there confused, waiting for someone the greet us and wondering why the place was so small, not one of the wait staff bothered to ask us if we needed any help as we're standing near the door trying to figure out what is going on. Eventually, we did figure out there was a whole other section, the main restaurant, and made our way over there. After we were seated, the waiter had to come back three times because we weren't given a drinks/wine list, then he kept coming back with only parts of it. Again, the experience was just weird. After my wife and I got our meals, both of us had gotten a steak, there were no steak knives given to us. No one came to check and there wasn't a waiter near enough to ask for some steak knives so my wife decided to try and cut her steak with the butter knife that was at the table. I'm sure you can imagine how that went. It was at that point that the waiter noticed my wife struggling that he rushed over two knives to our table. The steaks, however, were fantastic. I will absolutely give credit where credit was due. One of the better steaks I've had in some time. All in all, I felt that the restaurant was not prepared for valentine's weekend.

Wildwood is a great choice for dining in Geneva. Friendly staff, excellent service and a menu that offers a diverse selection of steaks, seafood, pasta and appetizers to choose from. My wife and I dined there for the third time this year on Saturday and will be coming back again soon. A warm and friendly ambiance makes Wildwood an excellent choice for dining in the western suburbs. Bud H.

I get that Valentine’s Day was super busy and understandable. But when reservations come and get checked in, and the host begins taking random couples back to be seated, then it’s basically a free for all. What was the point of a reservation if your ticket in the line is over looked? Also had to wait 30+ minutes past our reservation time to get a table and another 15 minutes for our server to appear.

Food was good but the service was awful. Server did not attend to us like he should of. Took forever to get a drink and took forever to come back and ask if we wanted anything after our meal and to Forever to get our check. We paid good money and we should have had better service.
