I wanted to stop with my family and our dog at the branch in Gland today, but dogs are not allowed in the Coffee Shop. This policy can be common in Portugal, but not in Switzerland.
In the nh Geneva city we stayed in the direction of Serviette Station turn right and turn left there and there at the corner is this beautiful café full of the most delicious food I have ever tasted, a must try if you ever come to Geneva
We go to this place once a week for breakfast. It opens on Sundays and also very early. Freshly squeezed orange juice, expresso coffee machine available and a delicious grilled ham and melted cheese sandwich lets you go happy and ready to work. Unpretentious place...that serves as bakery as well as cafe with table service. Staff friendly speak Portuguese, Spanish and French. A hangout for the neighborhood friends, and the Portuguese and Spaniard community. You will not be disappointed! It gets busy at certain hours as we all like good quality bakery products! Friendly atmosphere. A must!
This place is run by Portuguese but the way you would do it in Portugal which is the attraction here. It is a bakery café which is basically open every day of the week including when most are closed like Easter Sunday and Monday...so it caters to the portuguese community that comes and buys bread after church services on those days. Service is second to none, humble and honest. Products are always super fresh and very tasty if you appreciate Portuguese pastries and breads. My recommendation is the ham and cheese toasted portuguese croissant (that looks nothing like its french counterpart). A total winner. Try the Compal fruit juices that you only really find here. The Peach one and the pear one are to die for. The place is tiny so it gets busy quickly.
