Ocean Basket George

It is in the George Shopping Centre Mall and as a consequence the ambience leaves much to be desired. We were a party of six and had to do some basic shopping on our way to Plett for a few days holiday. It was a pleasant surprise for all that the food and service was so good. As the name indicates it is ostensibly a fish restaurant and worth a try. Certainly seemed better than the normal Ocean Baskets around South Africa.

First time at this branch. Seated promptly and order was swiftly taken. Waiter was attentive and food served very quickly. Only reason why i give it 4 stars is because the long island ice tea I ordered tasted watered down and I could have rather just ordered a coke with lots of ice as that is what it tasted like. (Flat watery coke that had to much ice in it).

Not knowing at which time they closed, me and my wife arrived there just a minute before 20h00. The hostess, Stella, insisted we come in and enjoy a meal. Well prepared meal and outstanding friendly service. Well done and a huge thank you to Stella and the kitchen staff. We will support you again.

Arrived during loadshedding. But place was candle lit, perhaps more lighting needed from outside as it appeared closed. But the Food was good, place was nice and clean. Manager seems to be involved and she is aware of whats happening instore.
