The fish was perfectly boiled with a beautiful teig. the only thing I would suggest is that they cook the chips a little longer. but they have put a lot of salt on them.
This conveniently located fish chips store, next to an iga near the sick houses offers a large food for a very cheap price. we ordered several pieces of fish, a couple of dimming sims, a chico roll, a seafood basket and chips for $67.... it feeds a family of 4 big eaters. all eating was well cooked and not superfluous oily, how deep roasted eating can often be. they offer gluten-free options on request.
Was a regular up and down and is still a good small chipper, fish is always fresh and well cooked, and a beautiful cracky chip.
In past years, we've really enjoyed Hooks' seafood. Our recent visit was no exception. We'd hoped for Pink Snapper, Bronzie or Dhufish, but these weren't on offer. We settled for Shark Bay Whiting instead. Good choice... delightful in fact... two pieces each... and the chips...were cooked to perfection. Were the spuds really from Holland? Maybe they were so good because they were fried in Rice Bran Oil( Cap'n Hook certainly knows his fish. We enjoyed a great chat about the local species and history of fishing in the midwest.
