Gasthaus Zur Kati - Gerasdorf bei Wien

This is my second morning in a row coming here. I'm not staying far away in a guest house and I'm just mistaken until I could get somewhere for a morning coffee. Yesterday I hung out for a few hours. I found it very pleasant to observe how the locals go in and out with their morning visits together with coffee and some with beer. The lady who served me, possibly the owner, was a little bit gruff A few times when I was connected via the free Wi-Fi and always. I think it's just because she doesn't speak English and was a bit hard to understand my German. That's understandable. I learned it in Switzerland. I sounded very funny to the people here. But I got a few smiles from her, and a simple affordable lunch. The menu appears traditional, but quite extensive. Maybe my favorite part, besides feeling very in the local scene, was all many vintage photos hanging on the walls with captions about the era and location. Vienna is such a fascinating place. I really like this location because it is a simple train ride to the historic city center (4 options per hour), but still a quiet out, in the country, feel it.

I ate here with a large group of people for a family day at noon. It was recommended by one of the groups as good food without being expensive. The price was certainly very reasonable, but I was disappointed with the food. Some... people had dishes they said were very good (e.g. grilled meat on skewers), which is why I'm giving this a rating of 3. But many of the dishes were so bad, I would give them specific 1. For example, the onion rust roast (reef with fried onions) was so hard and with so much crack it was hard to chew. Every person who ordered it left a bunch of fat on the plate. The Cordon Bleu (depressed fillet filled with ham and cheese) had almost no filling in it. We were also very disappointed by the service. We were a group of about 20 in a separate room and had our own waiter, but it took almost 20 minutes to bring the menus, and then more than half an hour before he came back to our commands. Overall, I found this place to be disappointed and I wouldn't go back.

Das Essen sehr, sehr gut und wirklich mehr als ausreichend!! Der Service sehr nett....gemütliches Wirtshaus mit gut bürgerlicher guter Küche und netten Personal werden bestimmt wieder zu euch essen kommen.

Sehr gut abgegrenzte Bereiche für Raucher und Nichtraucher. Freundliche Bedienung, kurze Wartezeiten. Alles hat gut geklappt. Ich war auch froh, dass es keine laute Musik gab. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, sehr praktisch und gut geeignet für ein schnelles Essen. Bestnote!!!
