Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Absolutely, I would plan an entire trip back to Memphis just for this! The plate of chicken I ordered was absolutely incredible and really woke up my taste buds. The batter was perfectly seasoned, and I thoroughly enjoyed the mac and cheese and beans as well. The tea was fantastic, though it leaned a bit on the sweeter side, even when I asked for it half sweet and half unsweetened. I really loved it, but given that I’m pre-diabetic, I need to keep an eye on my waistline for my grad photos this May, if you know what I mean. If I ever win the lottery, I won't boast about it, but there will definitely be signs—I’d fly back just for the chicken!

I have always experienced consistently outstanding service and delicious food at every Gus's I've visited, and this location is no exception.

The food was excellent! I hadn't dined here since 2019, and it was just as delicious as I remembered. I ordered the two-piece dark meat meal and the chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich was juicy and really tasty. The sides of okra, macaroni and cheese, and beans were also very good.

Taking the crown for best chicken in town. Just note for parents, chicken is made in peanut oil. People were friendly. Will be back for sure!

Kim was amazing! She was kind and patient with our special needs son! Our food was so good! What a great way to start out our night before seeing a movie!
