Went for lunch recently. Service was overall cold. Effective but cold. Food was good not great. Kids portions are the same as for adults...hence too much, too generous. Rock melon and Serrano ham was nice. Seared foie gras nice. Lentils and foie gras terrine good. Main: ris de veau was overcooked and chewy, veal kidneys nice and the lamb Parmentier nice and meaty. The beef steak was horrid: shoe sole. Crème brûlée very flat. We'll go back as there is potential. Not there yet at 4 ✨but on the way.
This hotel has been a feature in the town for many years but had fallen on hard times recently. Luckily it has been rescued in recent months (just re-opened April 2013 I believe) and the packed dining room on Saturday evening shows that locals and travellers alike are keen to see a return to form.Food was good - nothing special - but we left nothing on our plates! Can't comment on the bedrooms as we didn't stay here but we did here they have all been redone.
Fantastic value for money with traditional dishes home cooked and elegantly presented. The set menu is a very good deal - and then although the cheese plate is good.....................the desserts are outstanding. Friendly team and charming setting on the Quai de Nice
We have eaten here before and remembered a warm cosy restaurant. The décor now is more "modern", large bold paintings on the walls and a lot of lights. I have read since that the hotel has changed hands, presumably the cause of the change. We therefore approached our meal with some hesitancy, in case the quality of the food had also changed. Our fears were unfounded, we had an excellent meal, beautifully presented with friendly, efficient service and a good price.
