The dessert was amazing, especially paired with their excellent coffee. Unfortunately, the sad news is that the Green Turtle has lost its lease and had to close its doors, likely for good. I hope they find a new location, but I'm not optimistic. Such is life.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I had high hopes for the food, but it was merely okay, while the service was outstanding. I ordered the Thai seafood pasta, which was generous in seafood and pasta but could have used more seasoning. We also tried the lobster cakes; they had good flavor but were a bit under-seasoned and a tad too deep-fried for my taste. It seemed that the clientele and the soothing Frank Sinatra music suggested that the Green Turtle caters more to an older crowd, which might explain the milder flavors. It reminded me quite a bit of the Harbor Lights on Ruston Way. Despite everything, it’s a lovely spot as I mentioned earlier. I definitely plan to return to enjoy the views, sip some more wine, and perhaps sample a few different dishes. It's worth a visit to form your own opinion!
I would love to spend more time at Green Turtle. It is such a beautiful setting for a waterfront restaurant tucked inside the tranquil Gig Harbor overlooks majestic Mountain Rainier. Service was prompt and attentive from the moment we stepped in. Our server is a career waiter who is observant and his timing of offering suggestion and making pleasant conversation between serving was impeccable. I appreciate his professionalism. We were very comfortable dinning at Green Turtle restaurant under his care. But it isn 't a perfect world we are living in. My first bite revealed that the Jambo prawn Piri-Piri was undercooked. I returned the dish to the kitchen and expected they would replace it with a new one. No, this miserable prawn was reheated and scooped back on the plate. The worse part was that I saw my tooth mark on the reheated prawn. The joy of eating a 29 dollar meal poofed in the thin air. My friend 's meal was not better than mine. The seafood in her Thai Seafood Noodle was not fresh. She spitted out clams that were sandy and smelly. It is so unusual for an elegant restaurant offer such classless quality. Hope against hope, I might come back to try again some day. Worse case, I just have a bottle of wine with my friend and enjoy the view.
Filet is so tasteful and so soft.. Medium rare and the sauce combin with bean and scampi is to die for.... I literally clean the plate... Will most definately come back... That was the food.. The view from the balcony dinning area, looking out the Gig Harbor bay, wow the view.... Awesome...
We were quite disappointed with our dining experience. The deck felt old and worn out for a restaurant by the water. On Saturday, the staff seemed understaffed, resulting in service that was only a 3 out of 10 as they rushed around to handle a busy lunch crowd. We ordered Chicken Sandwiches, but the chicken was lukewarm, and instead of the promised brioche bun, we received a cold hamburger bun. The limited menu offered no deep-fried options. Overall, I expected a more upscale experience in Gig Harbor, and it just didn't meet those expectations.
