We were driving in this part of Switzerland and were tired of being stuck behind a lorry so I turned off the road to look at the beautiful lake and let it get farther down the road. My wife looked at he Restaurant Kaiserstuhl and suggested we try it for lunch - what and excellent suggestion. We sat outside overlooking the lake on a beautiful Swiss afternoon. Lunch was the special of the day - I don't know the term in German but it was a meatball/meatloaf with potatoes - which was excellent. You could tell it was popular since many other diners were enjoying it. I also saw the cordon bleu pass by and it looked tasty. Service was friendly. A lovely lunch break.
Great wine selection from the owners vinyards. Very nice service! We had the menue, a la carte iwould also be possible but the cocept of the house relies on the daily menue - a resonable but difficult concept: the food has to appear and taste like frehly prepared. This was not the case that evening. The beef was of great quality but overdone, no crust and too soft with no bite, the pan fried gritter chunks were kept too long under the infrared lamp the vegetables were rich and ok, the sauce too long on the head more like gelatin than a sauce. We had better dinners here.
Took the boat across the lake and ate at this great Swiss restaurant. Docks are below the dining area. Sat outside and enjoyed the gorgeous view across Lake Lungern. Child friendly (2 and 5). Wonderful food freshly prepared. The trout was fresh from the lake. Plan to return before we leave.
We very much enjoyed our lunch break at this lovely restaurant. Loved the interior decor - but we enjoyed the food on the terrace. food is simply excellent, the staff very friendly all in perfect combination with the view. We stopped here during the week and no reservation needed.
