It's a slight detour from the town centre, but it's worth it. The owner-chef was lovely, spoke to all guests from his open plan kitchen and when reciting today's menu. He ran the whole restaurant by himself, from taking orders, preparing food, and serving at the tables. An impressing feat! Smallish place with only 8-9 tables, so bookings are recommended. Schnitzels were made the way they should be, and are heartily recommended. Escargots in garclic butter as a starter was also exactly as good as the chef said they would be. Will certainly come back when next in the Gjøvik area.
Had lunch here today. Disnt have a reservation but was lucky enough that Marvin could accommodate us. The schnitzel and sides was out of the this world. Everything was made from scratch using fresh ingredients and you could certainly taste that. Marvin was a great host and explained the menu to us in perfect English. Marvin also gave us some local sites to see as we were just passing through and we were glad he did. The Ice rink built into the mountain was really cool and we would of missed it if not for Marvin. Thanks again and I hope to see you again on my next visit to Norway
The owner and chef is from Wienna. Fantastic food. Schnitzel was fantastic. The Napoleon cake was awesome.
Visited the place for dinner on Thursday. I have ordered a crab soup, Viennersnitzel and a Kremsnita. Soup was really creamy and tastefull, you could see that everything was made freshly in the restaurant, not from a bag. The Snitzel was really authenic, just like in Vienna, also prepared on the spot. The best part was the desert. I had a Kremsnita, which was made in front of me and served with a perfect Espresso. I was really impressed by the selection. It is almost impossible to get a Viennerscnitzel in Norway, and Kremsnita was also an amazing surprise. I definitely recommend the restaurant.
