We ordered buffalo wings with chipotle glaze and the 220g rump steak combo with beef ribs and glad we got that to share because the ribs were massive. The wings were well-cooked, although the chipotle sauce was sweet so we suspected it was honey-glazed instead. Also we ordered the steak rare but came out medium rare, we were really hungry so we just tucked in and fortunately it was still tender. The ribs were pretty average, there was nothing special about the basting/sauce, the meat was still quite tough and was super hard to eat around the bone. When we finished our meal the waitress asked if everything was okay we told her that we ordered our steak rare but it arrived medium rare, plus our buffalo wings might have had the wrong glaze, she replied with "Ah okay" with nothing else and walked away. That was weird, if she didn't care I'd rather her not ask anything, don't pretend to care and not follow up anyway. When we came to the counter to pay, the guy looked a bit frantic, rang up our bill, took our credit card, put through the payment and said "Have a good night" before walking off. He did all of that without making a second of eye contact. The food even though was slightly above average, customer service was definitely non-existent.
Made reservation to catch up with Son for his Birthday.Heard so much in regard to the food, we where looking forward to a good feed. Got the menu had a look a bit pricey but thought with recommendation give it a go.Had a nice entre' was ok, staff rushed us saying that main nearly ready clearing table before all finished not good.Son had Steak n Rib topping Steak was good Ribs greasy and stringy Pork.I ordered Full rack of Beef Ribs not to much Beef more grissle not a good size portion for cost.We where both really let down with quality and over pricing.f Old saying been there done that
Ribs and Rumps is the place to go for if you are hanging out for a great steak meal. there's a good variety of cuts & portion sizes, along with plenty of ad ons to go with your meal. To top it off there's also a wide selection of beers and wines to wash it all down with, well worth a visit when in Gladstone.
We visited on a quiet evening, and hubby chose the Ribs, Ribs, Ribs which is a mix of Pork, Beef and Lamb ribs. It was a pretty large plateful of ribs but not all the meat was falling off the bone and the taste was the same all the way through - a bit too sweet and too much of the one taste. It has cured him for a while of his rib cravings.I ordered the rib fillet which had been sitting around a bit too long and was only luke warm. I also dislike having to pay extra for a sauce ($3). So, I am not quite sure what I think of this restaurant. I'll give it another go at some stage and try something different - hopefully it will be an improvement.
I was staying at a local hotel, and this place was suggested to me. I arrived and the restaurant was half full. I was told that the wait on food was an hour plus.... asked me to come back in two hours. I didn't. Prices looked steep for a steak with no salad or chips.
