The 2 waitresses are overwhelmed and lack even basic customer service skills. They do not greet you as you walk in, no hostess...they walk past you several times and if you ask if someone could seat you , they tell you to wait. We went to the bar and the bartender did her very best to service us. Empty, dirty glasses were set infront of my friend on the bar as the waitresses cleared tables. Stay very far away from this restaurant! Hopefully a new staff and some management will help to revive this pizza place.
Very good pizza I stopped in early for lunch, about 15 minutes after they opened at 11, and walked into an empty restaurant. Almost empty, after a couple of minutes a person showed up who would be my hostess and server. She was very nice and apologized, explaining they had just removed a bell that let them know someone had walked in. The restaurant remained almost empty while I enjoyed my lunch. I learned they get quite busy in the evening but for lunch, especially in the off season, it is not at all busy. Good for me, I had my choice of seats. My server told me about their lunch special, two slices and a drink for a very reasonable price. I got the lunch special but added a few more toppings for an upcharge. I found the slices large and very good from point to crust. The slices were hot and delivered with a smile. I liked the place, lots of large windows to let in natural light and to look out, and Beatles music playing in the background.
I can't relate to the negative reviews on here because my experience was fantastic. Staff was friendly, they have a full bar, great pizza and desserts, and it's an extremely spacious restaurant. My friend and I had the opportunity to chat in length with the owner at the bar and she was a doll. The service was outstanding and I would recommend highly!
I was ready to be disappointed but I wasn 't! : Their food is expensive, but everything on the Island is. I had pizza, they had lasagna, ravioli, and Italian sausage sub. Pizza was great! Lots of toppings and not soggy. The lasagna was amazing and my daughter loved it. Ravioli had good flavor but should have been hotter. Sub was a perfectly respectable sub aka it was what should be expected. Price was about $22 a person with two of us having three beers total. Service was good, attentive without being annoying. We got sat immediately and our beers and food came out quickly. Good for a quick ish dinner.
We've been coming to Siesta for over 20 years and have been patrons of City for many of those years. Being a New Yorker, we can't go more than a few days without pizza (or else we shake and get the sweats), so naturally we always end up at City Pizza for a break from the seafood to pig out on some pie. Their pizza is good (not great), but each year we visit, the interior, service and overall vibe of city becomes more and more grim, dilapidated and just downright unsanitary. The place is in dyer need of a remodel, thorough deep cleaning and some new management if they intend to stay around much longer. My family and I decided that this year's visit to City will be our very last. It's a shame to see what could've been a really cool, unique and successful pizza spot on the Key descend so far down the waste tubes. With the thousands of tourists that flock to Siesta Key, many seek a reprieve from the high priced local restaurants in search of an easy delicious pizzeria- City Pizza was in a perfect position to capitalize big-time on that population and fulfill that need, but have failed. I'd love to see this place make some changes and turn it around, but I'm afraid that ship has long sailed.
