My husband wanted some recommendations on what scotch to drink, and the bartender came to our table and was so informative. We ordered the pre theater 3 course menu. The fish soup was so well balanced and delicious. I had mackerel which had wonderful crispy skin and my husband had an Asian styled salmon. Both were incredible. The warm chocolate cake for dessert was very good. I think Gamba is one of the best restaurants I have even eaten at. And I have eaten at a lot!
Having read reviews I was expecting something special. Wrong. Friday night no atmospher, the restaurant itself feels more like doctors waiting room. The food whilst not being bad was just average, nothing stand out at all. The whole experience was.... average.
Could not fault any course. If you like seafood you need to eat here. The ambience of the restaurant is great. If is not too large so you do not need to talk loud to be heard like in other establishments where the noise levels can be very high. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the service is great.
My partner and I attended Gamba for his birthday on Saturday there for his birthday and it really is first class. The staff could not be more attentive and helpful, and the food was to die for. I would say this is one of the best restaurants in glasgow. Highly recommend to anyone who loves sea food.
Went for the set menu lunch, food was excellent, service was great, thoroughly recommended!
