A bit disappointed, experience little angry during the meal. table not ready to eat out massive wait between the curses very small portions
Unfortunately, the entire experience was quite disappointing. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar, but the staff forgot to seat us at our reserved table at the appointed time. When they finally did, the heating was broken, making it uncomfortably cold. Luckily, the patrons at a nearby table informed us of this issue. They had ordered wine to accompany their meal, but it didn't arrive until they had already finished eating. The haggis fritters for the starter were decent, but nothing noteworthy. The main courses were a mixed bag - my sea bass was delicious and well-prepared, but my partner's slow-cooked brisket was dry and tough, necessitating a return to the kitchen. Unfortunately, after that, no staff member came by our table. It took us about 20 minutes to flag someone down so we could settle the bill. Throughout this time, we witnessed another table send back their pizzas because they were cold. Overall, it was a very disappointing evening.
We sat at a beautiful stand near the door. slightly cold, but the decor was beautiful. the service was extremely poor as we sat for 45 minutes without asking us whether we wanted a drink. my friend went into the bar to put an order and we got our drinks an hour after sitting. the drinks were okay, but not worth the money. the food was nice, but again in portions was bad. my friends and I would have been looking for dinner with our dinner, but because of the bad service we couldn't order again and didn't want to spend any other money. one of the waiters apologised at the end of the meal and gave our table free dishes. this did not depend on the lack of communication and poor service during the meal.
I had visited this restaurant a few times before and enjoyed it, but I was very disappointed with my experience this time. The carbonara was made with penne pasta and tasted like burnt egg, and both pizzas were completely burnt and dry with a lack of taste. One of the pizzas had cold toppings, while the rest of the pizza was warm, as if the toppings had been thrown on last minute. Thankfully, we didn't mind raw peppers. The wait times between courses were long, and there were no offers for drink refills, despite there being only 3 tables in the restaurant. The staff seemed preoccupied with chatting amongst themselves, which led to us having to approach them for service. Overall, we received a £95 bill on a Thursday night for a well-below-average meal with terrible service. This was a big disappointment compared to previous visits.
