I used to love this place when it was Bean Scene; it was my favorite location of this Scottish mini chain. However, I believe it has changed ownership and name since then. When I recently visited for a quick trip to Glasgow, it seemed to have yet another name. It now functions more as a cafe than a coffee shop, offering a wide variety of lunches and snacks. I appreciate that they have options for children's lunches, which gives an idea of the current clientele. The cozy armchairs I used to enjoy for writing long hours have been replaced by dining chairs. The only thing that seems to have expanded is their flat white coffees, usually served in small cups but now served in mugs. I thought it was more like a latte than a flat white, but the hot chocolate was a nice treat on a rainy Glasgow morning. Overall, it's still a great place, but it's more suited for casual dining rather than settling in to work with a couple of coffees.
This coffee shop is definitely worth going to. A good place to meet up with friends. I still find I dont like it quite as much as I liked Beanscene. Something to do with the decor I think. Not quite as rustic or slightly too clinical. However definitely worth going to.
