Pretty poor really disappointed with the service. food was lovely as always really guys rushing your customers. Not very impressive.
The restaurant was extremely loud. We were seated next to a large group of noisy men on one side and another loud group behind us. The atmosphere was very rowdy and geared towards a male clientele. We had to shout and repeat ourselves just to have a conversation while eating our dinners. The waitress apologized and mentioned that it is not typically that loud, but it was still disappointing, especially since we were there to celebrate a birthday. Despite the noise, the food was excellent.
After looking for a good Sunday lunch in Glasgow, we were unfortunately let down. The ambiance and welcome were pleasant, but the roast beef was a disappointment. Despite asking for it to be cooked as rare as possible, the beef was overcooked, tough, and thinly sliced. The vegetables were good, but the potatoes were lacking, the gravy was average, and the Yorkshire puddings were very good. The two bottles of wine we ordered were fine, but we were not happy with the 15% service charge, considering the wine was not consistently poured by the serving staff. While it is a nice restaurant to visit, we would not be returning after our recent experience.
Superb food .Great staff .Best steak experience in Glasgow by a country mile.Max Cheese a great side and tomahawk a must .Nice decor and great ambiance.Even got a small birthday surprise .Well done to all involved .Cannot recommend it highly enough.
So we were originally meant to be a table of 7 unfortunately 2 were unable to make it, it was a surprise birthday treat for a friends birthday, she knew she was heading out with one of the girls but wasn’t expecting the rest of us. The table we had booked wasn’t ready as they were still waiting for the previous party to vacate and we were asked to sit at the bar, the three of us nervous we wouldn’t get balloon decorations ready for the birthday girl ! But we managed it just in time, as said before some tables the staff offered to take coats and they never asked us, not a big gripe we had a big table and plenty of space of at a smaller table it might have been an issue but it was incredibly busy. We found the menu more than a little confusing ! Sunday menu wasn’t overly clear tbh but we all pretty much opted to go for steaks from the a la carte after all it was a special ocassion , we ordered a number of sides to go along with our steaks and mostly non alcoholic drinks but birthday girl was treated to a wine and a cheeky wee sambuca. The wait for the steaks wasn’t longer than I’d expect anywhere for freshly prepared food and gave us plenty time to chat and enjoy a catch up. Everyone was thoroughly impressed with how all the steaks were cooked and we were all suitably stuffed. We only had mains but we did have another surprise for the birthday girl a massive Costco cake the staff brought out for her along with plates knives forks etc and joined in singing happy birthday to her. Hopefully the staff all managed to get a slice later as it was never going to be eaten by all of us. The staff were all super friendly and couldn’t have been any nicer to us. I was a bit shocked at the £30 service charge as personally I always tip but like to make my own choice about how much to tip but it was reasonable and would have been roughly similar but can’t comment for the rest of the party. I will hopefully be back but with someone else paying next time lol
