The Italian Bistro - Glasgow City

The food at this restaurant has greatly improved over the past 6 months, offering extremely tasty dishes at a great value. The children's menu is a steal, including a full-sized dessert. The staff is friendly and provides good service as well.

The Italian Bistro is a fantastic place to eat and socialize. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who showed us to our table. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with a diverse mix of clientele. Although children are welcome, the restaurant is large enough that they are not disruptive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with a choice of two menus. I highly recommend trying the Stornoway Black Pudding, Oban Scallops, and White Chocolate Cheesecake. Overall, myself and my guests had a wonderful experience and we will definitely be returning.

Food here has improved a lot in the last months, now it's both extremely tasty and very good value. The children's menu is a real bargain and includes a proper full sized dessert. Friendly staff and good service too.

Poor service, food average to poor, value for money definitely poor.

On my entry, I was welcomed by a very pleasant gentleman, who escorted myself and my party to our table. We were then introduced to his colleague who was assigned to our table. Again, this staff member was very pleasant and helpful The atmosphere of the place is very casual and warm, with the staff always gracing you with a smile and never being in your face with their presence. The clientele is a mixed affair from young to old, snooty to the weird (well weird being the parents that dress their little boy in pink wellies with green flowers on them), this is wrong! But hey the place is in the west end. Children are welcome at this place, though I did not find them irritating, just their parents. Good thing is the place is large enough that hopefully they shall not be in your tables vicinity The food is very good and reasonably priced. There is a choice of two menus The Market menu The Al a Carte menu. Form a choice of pasta, steak and fish I opted for the Stornoway Black Pude poached egg for starter, Oban Scallops for my main (which were excellent) for the dessert lovers you need to have the White Chocolate cheese cake. Overall, there was no complaints at all from either myself or any of my guests. A great place to eat and socialise especially if you knew my party of guests they are not the easiest of folk to please I highly recommend The Italian Bistro Oh PS... there previous review author is not one of my party, though I cannot believe he was in the same place.
