The chicken wings, soft chimichanga and the dessert was delicious. Update: I am sure thats the best Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is always delicious.
This particular location could not understand english well. It did not have the same menu options as the one on Broad street. We saw our waiter one time and that was for the order we placed. The tables can be spaced out more to help with social distances. My guacamole was mafe to perfection at my table side. I love them . I prefer the other location however . It has more selection. I suggest space out seating more .
Big cold beer, nachos and do. Good food but nothing over the top. Would still go back.
We, wife I had a great experience. Fast service, great food, our server was 1st class. This store is better than Short Pump quality there has slipped). I think this will be our Azteca now!
Wow! The portions at Plaza Azteca are no joke! To start we were met with great customer service from our waiter, in a fancier than usual outfit, bringing out a hot batch of classic crispy Mexican chips which were salted nicely. The vibe of the restaurant was pretty cool and the seating was comfortable in our booth. The white sauce is pretty spicy compared to other restaurants but not super spicy to the point where it is unenjoyable. The salsa was mediocre at best but I'm not a big salsa guy to start. The queso was absolutely excellent. The amount they give you is super generous and my girlfriend and I didn't even finish it. It is a bit on the pricier end though. I think it was almost 8 dollars. A steep price but not terrible for the amount and the flavor. My girlfriend got the burrito fajitas (one chicken, one steak) and they were pretty dang good. They were packed with meat but the tortilla was a bit soggy for our liking. The rice was great when cheese dip was added to it! The beans though, were probably the worst part of the entire experience. Very disappointing. They were soupy and had little to no flavor. The burrito California though, was spectacular! It had fries, beans, rice, and steak packed into a fat tortilla, served with cheese sauce, guacamole, and pico on top. I didn't know how fries would be in such a Mexican dish but boy did that flavor stand out. It wasn't super bready either because of the insane amount of steak inside of it. The portion was incredible. It did get a little dry because of how much was actually inside of it, so added cheese sauce is necessary in my opinion. The guacamole on top was okay, nothing to be crazy about and the pico was nonexistent after maybe two bites. Overall, I would definitely come back to Plaza Azteca but the price was a little hefty for my liking. The food and service is good, don't get me wrong, but the price was a lot more for not that big of a difference in quality to its competitors in the area. I would still give this spot a try if in Virginia Center Commons, it's great for large groups too! Make sure to get the Queso! It goes on everything!!!
