We tried their coffee made with the old school Vittoria roast, which was a nice change of pace. I enjoyed the breakfast burrito with a tasty bean salsa on top. My friend had the Havana baked eggs, which were a generous portion and cooked perfectly. We will definitely be returning for more.
I was meeting a friend who lives in Port Melbourne for brunch so we decided to check out Cafe de Cuba and sit outside in the sparse but glorious sunshine. Despite the name this is definitely not Cuban food although there is a Havana eggs on the menu that seems like it could be inspired by traditional cuisine. There's also a scandi eggs dish and all the breakfast basics. The menu consists of simple classic brunchfare. You will find no matcha latte here which suits me just fine. Matcha really has become the ingredient de jour of late and frankly I'm a little over it. I had a lovely fresh juice which was nice and tropical with lots of watermelon and pineapple and I ordered the corn fritters with avocado, swapping out the bacon for feta which they were happy to do. Delicious. The lunch menu involves all your pub classics; pizzas, burgers, parmas etc but also has quite a few salads which caters to the beach body locals. We were both satisfied with our meal and the staff were very attentive
Cafe De Cuba is a nice open space for brunching and chilling. Located conveniently on the corner of Glen Huntly Road, its easily accessible and there’s plenty of off street parking around. Great place to try out some brunch dishes, but coffee was a bit disappointing. Skim Cappuccino $3.80. Average coffee. A bit bitter. 5/10
I honestly love this cafe! It's my new favourite spot as a local. I come here quite frequently and the coffee is always excellent and the food is always delicious! My partner and I have come here for dinner as well and it's just the perfect place for a great meal with good company on a lovely evening.
Had a great first experience at cafe Cuba! Came here in a big group after the granny! There were more than accommodating, friendly and even gave us free muffins being the last customers of the day! We opted for the Parma which was a winner! The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable! Will have to come back and try breakfast here too!
