Definitely my favourite cafe for the past few years. One of the top reasons I moved to Balaclava. The four mushrooms was my staple dish, but i went exploring and everything i've tried is next level. Kimchi omelette, bulgogi burrito, avo smash and the Korean potato finger things. Unbelievable.Keep doing what you're doing!
Went here for dinner on a Friday night. Ordered fry chicken kimchi fries and tteokbokki.<br/ Fry chicken: boneless fry chicken. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the insides. The sweet chilly flavor also came with fried rice cake- I really enjoyed it!<br/ Kimchi fries: A must try. It is yummmm! Downside it the fries get soggy easily with the cheese and kimchi on top. Better eat it fast!<br/ Tteokbokki: nothing special about this.<br/ Overall it is quite expensive comparing to Korean restaurants in the city. However it is not easy to find a good Korean place around the suburb. The shop is very cute and not as crowded as the ones in the city. It is worth visiting.<br/
The kimchi fries were indulgent, covered in melted cheese with just the right amount of kimchi for a hint of sour and spicy flavor. The atmosphere was relaxed, with a soundtrack of romantic Korean drama songs playing in the background. The service was friendly and down to earth, making it a great place to hang out for a while, depending on your preference for lovey-dovey music.
I had a great experience during my first visit to Hankook in Balaclava. The menu offers something for everyone and I can't wait to go back. My husband and I received a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The coffee was made perfectly, with my flat white being exceptionally smooth. I ordered The Four Mushroom dish, which consisted of sautéed mushrooms on top of multigrain toast with poached eggs and beetroot hummus. The portion was generous and well balanced, not too heavy. Thank you to the staff at Hankook, I will definitely be returning!
