My friend and I enjoyed a fantastic meal at the McKinnon Hotel. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the menu offered a mix of traditional and innovative dishes. The restaurant has a modern, comfortable, and stylish atmosphere, and we particularly enjoyed dining on the pleasant outdoor deck with live music on Sunday afternoons. The staff was very attentive to my friend, who has vision impairment, and even remembered his name, which we truly appreciated. We will definitely be returning soon!
We ordered three appetizers that were very good, but one dish was forgettable. The chicken liver pate, pork terrine, and grilled garlic chili garnish were all excellent. However, the chicken carving with the Middle Eastern sauce was disappointing. The dish had a strange taste from the addition of cumin and the chicken was overcooked and tough to chew. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and the staff were helpful, but ultimately, people go there to eat. I'm not sure if I would return, as I don't want to be disappointed again.
Consistently good eating. Live music on Sunday is really good. new deck will be great for the summer. Thursday Stak night great value
This is a very expensive pub. Ordered a 400gm Barnsley Chop 36! and it was more like 200gm, at least half the weight being the bone. Came with a green salad. Massive rip off. Queried the waiter response was that it was probably 400g...before being cooked and then laughed. Must have had a massive shrink factor . Further queried the waiter who then just laughed some more. Not worth the money go somewhere else.
