Four of us went on Saturday night. Fantastic! Great food. Music was different and everybody – all ages from all tables – got up and danced. And all for $120 for the four of us! BYO and no corkage. Took us awhile to find the place. Signage on Glen Eira Rd is poor. Dark sign on a dark door. But once we got inside all was good. Our table was ready for us with plates of cold meat, pickled cucumbers, smoked salmon and olives all ready for us.
On Saturday night, four of us went to a fantastic restaurant where we had great food and enjoyed a diverse selection of music that got people of all ages up and dancing. The total bill for the four of us was only $120, and we were able to bring our own alcohol with no corkage fee. Although it took us some time to find the place due to poor signage on Glen Eira Rd, once we were inside, everything was wonderful. Our table was prepared with plates of cold meat, pickled cucumbers, smoked salmon, and olives. We were continuously served a variety of delicious dishes such as marinated herrings, potato salad, hot potatoes, eggplant and capsicum, mushrooms, salads, piroshki, pelmeni, chicken kiev, garlic prawns, meat skewers, chicken skewers, and more, ending with a platter of fresh fruit. The music selection was fantastic, starting with Russian songs from the 60s and transitioning to modern dance music. There was even a set of Hebrew songs performed upon request for a large party celebrating a 70th birthday. The eclectic mix of music, including ABBA, Rasputin, and Sinatra, had everyone up and dancing, from toddlers to the elderly. Overall, we all had a great time and will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future.
This restaurant is a fantastic choice for a party, offering delicious comfort food with influences from Russia and the Mediterranean. They also have a very generous BYOB policy with no corkage fee. Entertainment is provided by a great band playing traditional Russian music, pop, rock, and disco. Some of the highlights of the menu include pickled herring and vodka shots.
Best restaurant I've been in a long time. Unfortunately I went there after a fulfilling afternoon tea and could not finish all the food so we took the remainder home. Amazing food, everything was so hearty and fresh and plenty for two people. Gotta have huge appetites to be able to finish it all! Favorites were the prawns on rice, the eggplant appetiser and potato salad.
