I stumbled upon The Grev, a simple cafe with a selection of pre-made burgers, pasta, and a fresh salad cabinet. I opted for a bacon and egg toasted sandwich on multigrain bread and a pot of English breakfast tea. To my surprise, the tea came with a couple of complimentary brownie pieces on the side, which were so delicious that I ended up ordering a whole piece. The pot of tea was generous and gave me three cups worth. All of this cost me less than $15, which I found to be amazing value. As I sat and read, I noticed locals coming in and being greeted by the owner with their usual order, indicating that they were regular customers. This is always a good sign of a successful business. If you're looking for high-quality, simple food without any fancy kale dishes, this is the perfect spot for you.
The Greve offers daily soups and pastas, as well as customizable sandwiches (great for vegetarians). I visited for an early lunch and ordered a schnitzel roll, but unfortunately it was overcooked and had been sitting in the bain marie for too long, making it dry. The restaurant prepares food in advance to accommodate the lunch rush. On the bright side, the coffee was delicious and reasonably priced.
