Kizuna Sushi Bistro - Glen Ellyn

Food and ambiance are great. Staff is always friendly and usually attentive. We had a reservation but seemed to be forgotten will definitely be back.

This was my third or fourth visit to Kizuna, and it will not be my last. We love the atmosphere. Nice and quiet. At first it was a bit crowded, but everyone left and my friend and I had half the restaurant to ourselves. Now to the Sushi. I started with the River Beast and my friend had the Dragon. Both were fantastic. I love the earthy taste and feel of the black rice. The fish was fresh, and the veggies were crunchy. To finish off the night we shared the Spicy Tataki with Black Rice instead of white. It was amazing! It comes on a special flaming plate. They ran out of regular cruncy, so they substituted sweet potato crunchy. I've had this before, and the regular crunchy is much better. Anyway, we will be back.

They appeared to have limited staff and staff in training so it is important to know that service is a little slow and reminders are needed after ordering a second drink and getting items from the kitchen was delayed. They were also out of white rice which is kind of a big deal given that it’s a sushi place. The seaweed salad, shrimp dumplings and the black monster roll were absolutely delicious and beautiful in presentation.

The food, is always amazingly tasty and original. They *need* more staff!!! Went for my birthday and got there @6pm, was still waiting on one of our four rolls at 7:50 pm. We watched the other two servers constantly check on their tables, but we were forgotten about by our server guy. He did give us a wine glass on the house after we waited a half hour for the third roll. The first two rolls and edemame were received pretty quickly. It seemed like they were more concerned with their to-go orders than their dine in customers. I think they just need to hire more people or take less to-go orders. I’d like to reiterate how tasty the every single roll is though. Tequila roll is the best if you like spicy, zesty islander is refreshing and mild, and the mafia roll and black rice is the best- 10/10 hands down. We’re going to support Kizuna because they have the most original sushi around, and hopefully they’ll grow into the bigger space soon!!!

They were very quick in making the food and the server was very on top of everything. The staff was very nice and helpful. The food was really good. I like that they give more pieces per roll than a normal sushi restaurant.
