Celtic Country Gourmet - GLEN INNES

My partner and I stopped at this restaurant on our way back to the Sunshine Coast and I am looking forward to visiting again! The young man at the counter was the perfect example of excellent customer service. He was very friendly and the facilities were incredibly clean. The only thing we wished for was more of the tasty, tender steak in our pie.

This restaurant is always my go-to lunch spot on my way back from Brisbane every Christmas. The pies are consistently delicious, and on this visit I tried the chili pie and the steak and cheese pie. The chili pie was my favorite so far, and I would have had two if they hadn't sold out that afternoon. The barista there makes a fantastic long black just the way I like it. I hope they have more chili pies available when I return next year.

We selected from the few pies that were left and although the fillings and crust were decent, the pies were only lukewarm which diminished their overall taste. It was disappointing to see that the people who came after us were offered the pies for a cheaper price because there weren't many left. Unfortunately, I experienced an upset stomach later on which leads me to believe that I won't be coming back. Hopefully, it was just a bad day for the restaurant. I hope for their sake that it was just an off day, but I don't think I will give them another try.

The best pies!! They are so tasty, and the pastry was beautiful. Easy to park, nice and clean place.
