I came not knowing what to expect, came about it from a friend in common. My husband and I are extremely picky eaters and we like to criticize restaurants on their food. THIS IS NOT A TAQUERIA, it’s a MARISQUERÍA. Meaning prices go according to these type of dishes. Expect to pay $36 for a TOP TIER molcajete or Chapuzón platter. It was fire. I liked that they had tortas and tacos for my kids to eat. Since we have restaurant experience, food and prices are reasonable. Now that I’m reading other comments, it seems like they’re under new management, and I get it now. It does seem like they’re working on updating this place to look more like a seafood restaurant. I was ok with that. We came on Mothers Day. The waitress and waiter were on top of their game, very friendly and helpful when it came to choosing my dish. I do have a baby and when we got there the music was a little too loud, but the baby was ok it after 5 minutes so I guess it was ok? Definitely recommend! Worth my 45 min drive!
I ordered food that was not stated right on the menu. I asked the waitress and she said it would be extra. I then asked her why since it says it’s included in the description. She told me they’re under new management and that’s the rule no added shrimp. Nothing was done to even make up for that. Also I love Karaoke but I couldn’t even hear my family that was directly next to me. I couldn’t end up eating my food and didn’t want it to go to waste so I took it home to reseason it at home. The service was not great. The food was mid for the prices they charge. The only thing that made it somewhat positive is that my brother liked his dish. What happened to this place???
Been going here for years on occasion. Something changed? Steak isn't spiced as it used to be and the quantity on the burrito has cut WAY back. It's OK but I will be exploring other options in the future
BEWARE- This restaurant is under new owners, who have changed everything. The previous reviews are for the OLD restaurant, which was amazing. However, the new restaurant is NOT good. I came to the restaurant over the weekend not knowing there was new management. After reviewing the menu, I was disappointed to find out there's been changes in the food that was provided. Either way, I decided to order a Torta de Milanesa. I literally felt like I was eating beef jerky with hard bread. I didn't complain and just ate my rice and beans. Now when I went to pay for my food, the restaurant added gratuity twice. I asked them to remove it and they gave me attitude. At this point, I started recording the situation. I decided to review my receipt in full and realized they charged $2-$6 more on each meal my family ordered, compared to the menu. The sales tax was more than it's supposed to be. Plus I was being charged for 2 drinks when I only ordered 1. When I brought all of this to the managers attention she gave me complete attitude, then started to act like she could not speak english and was having the young waiter translate, AFTER she was already talking to me. When she realized I was recording the situation she decided to call the cops. When they arrived, they informed her that nothing was being done wrong. We were trying to pay for our meals, we just wanted to pay correctly. She stood there quiet. At this point my family was frustrated and paid the balance on the receipt, but left no tip. Even with paying the receipt, no one informed us that there would be an additional charge for using our card, over cash. I will NEVER come back here, and have made sure to inform my family not to as well. I do feel bad for not tipping the young man, as he was good and friendly, but the manager made the whole experience horrible (on top of bad food) and gave us the hardest time adjusting our receipts. BEWARE!!!!!!
