The Eggs Benedict were okay, but didn't offer anything particularly exciting. On the positive side, the service was excellent, with friendly and welcoming staff. The mimosa, however, was large and quite tasty.
Food is average. I typically love biscuits and gravy but their biscuits are like rolls. They're not fluffy at all. My husband had the scrambled egg plate and I have a turkey sandwich. Eggs or eggs by the turkey sandwich was pretty tasty! Was served on sourdough with some kind of dressing and lettuce and tomato.
I was seated promptly and ordered my usual: a short stack of pancakes, a side of bacon, and coffee. The coffee arrived quickly—hot, fresh, and strong, yet surprisingly smooth. It just needed a dollop of half-and-half and a splash of ice water to make it perfect. The restaurant was busy enough that I had to wait a bit for my meal, but it was worth it. Unlike many breakfast and lunch places that cut corners, The Place doesn’t skimp on quality. The pancakes were generously sized; while perhaps a bit thin, their fantastic texture, creaminess, and flavor made up for it. These pancakes were definitely homemade, not from a mix. They came topped with real butter instead of some greasy yellow substance and were served with genuine maple syrup, not just flavored corn syrup. It was delicious! In addition to the maple syrup, there was a bottle of blueberry sauce, which I tried a couple of spoonfuls of (purely for research purposes). It was real blueberry sauce—if it wasn’t made in-house, it was the best store-bought option available. I know that smaller restaurants often cook their bacon in batches in a convection oven, which is fine, and keep it warm in a large serving pan. The best places will use a rack to prevent the bacon from becoming too greasy. The Place excelled in this aspect, and the bacon was fantastic—slightly dark but thick-cut, with just the right amount of chew and flavor. Overall, I’m looking for excuses to return. I had a 9 out of 10 experience!
Food always on point, great staff eat there couple times a month
Took the family here because of the reviews. Must have picked the wrong day. Food was ok. Better options at an IHOP or Dennys. Half our order was brought out and when the rest came out, it was cold. Drinks were ok. Definitely wouldn’t recommend
