Until last Friday I had not eaten at Hank since the late 1970s, the experience was very similar at that time. A great place to experience the little city life.
I always like to eat there because from waiting staff to the cooks, everything is great there. If you house style cooking at a great price and a friendly staff who would like to serve you, I recommend this place to all locals simply through the city. You won't be disappointed.
On the way from Tucson to Los Angeles I didn't want to follow the 10. Instead, I took the 77 on the 60 on the 10. The breakfast at Hanks stopped because I wanted a local diner. When I raised, I saw what I was sure that locals went to Hanks. I knew that was the place I was looking for. When I went up to the door, I noticed a note that was glued to the door and about 15 articles that they had not. Since for breakfast I was worried that the first 3 items were bacon, butter and muffins. I made the quick decision to see what Hanks had. When I was told that Hanks had all fried steak breakfast for the chicken, I was there. So glad I stayed because the breakfast was fantastic along with the service. If I didn't live 300 miles away, I would definitely eat more often at Hanks!!!
The food was delicious. The service was missing. Not for contempt or something. Our waitress was sincerely friendly, knowledgeable, care, professional and efficient. She had no help when we were there. The place was full and she was the only waitress. We were really satisfied with how she treated her workload.
