Beautiful location, quiet, clean, good selection of foods (according to the standard of your typical hut). The cottage owner offered a... excellent bottle of white wine to try a so-called Roter Veltliner, which I would highly recommend. Also very good breakfast made at home with bread. A word of warning if you follow path no. 830 to take down the valleys, it will be signed with about 4 hours walking time, but we took more than 6 hours as parts of the further end of the path are overgrown and are quite difficult to go. Would not recommend for children.
The Rieder hütte is the most important hiking support point in the eastern hills and can be reached from the mountain station of the refractory railway in about 2 h (worthy is also the one about the promising butfeldkogel with the europakreuz.) the reception by the hut team was very warm, the support friendly and helpful. so hüttenwirt daniel is not too bad to give its guests a return to the state of the road and the current weather conditions. the most beautiful one sits on the promising terrace, to eat there is a small but fine selection of warm dressed and broth times. we stayed at the hut and had the dinner menu from baked soup, pork and dessert. especially the bratl was able to convince with lean meat and a fine beer sauce and pleasing supplements. a very rewarding destination for a day trip; the very promising hellkogel can be reached at about 40min and thus be taken on the way back. bergfexe also have the opportunity to stay at the hut to take the next morning the very impressive but quite long overrun of the hilly mountains to the high lick house. solid alpine experience, equipment and safety.
