The Bento box was exceptional, with a variety of options including vegetable and shrimp tempura, beef roulades, sashimi, nigiri, and a California roll. The presentation was beautiful, with sides of seaweed salad, ginger, wasabi, and lime. The tempura was perfectly crispy and light, while the sushi could have been fresher but was still delicious. The beef roulades were incredibly tender and flavorful. Despite getting lost on my way to the restaurant, I was very happy I stumbled upon it. I highly recommend trying the Bento box for a delicious meal.
This restaurant is a hidden gem! While staying in Göteborg, we were craving something fresh, warm, and light, and a quick search online led us to Mikado for some hot udon. As frequent Japanese food eaters in the States, we were impressed by the generous portions we received. The sashimi and udon dishes were particularly large, and both came with miso soup, salad, and rice. The sashimi had a generous amount of salmon, which was a pleasant surprise as it's usually the fish we wish there was more of. The service at Mikado was extremely child-friendly, with a complimentary kiddo-friendly salad and ice cream for our 4-year-old daughter. The flavors of the dishes were fresh and unique, with the salad being more interesting than usual, filled with a mix of greens, corn, edamame, seaweed, and cucumber. The gyoza came with a tasty dipping sauce that hinted at some Chinese influences, which added an interesting twist. The seafood in the udon was incredibly fresh and expertly cooked, making it some of the best we've ever had. Overall, everything was well executed and delicious. We were told that Mikado is the oldest sushi restaurant in Göteborg, and it's easy to see why!
