Their sushi and other meals are already the most expensive and not always of better quality and their recent price increase has been hefty. I guess they want to chase their regulars away.....
The owner of this establishment is very impolite and confrontational when asked about her business.
The stench of old fish hits you in the face the second you walk into the Brickworks! The other businesses should protest that Reef is ruining their businesses along with it's own. Used to be spectacular and delicious now inedible. The tempura oil was rancid and the batter was goopy and sticky. The seafood chowder was 2cm of wall paper glue with old bits of fish. So so so sad to see how far this once incredible restaurant has fallen.
Chunks of fresh sushimi salmon on a bed of rice, is what I saw on their display and ordered it. All little pieces of salmon were one by one turned inside out so as to look absolutely perfect... I sat down to devour it, alas, it was completely inedible, couldn't chew any of it...unfortunately, this isn't the same place anymore.
Visited for a late lunch so plenty of choice of tables to choose from. Nice to see seating has been rearranged and dividers erected between high table to engender confidence in the time of CoVid. Serves as always very generous, well presented and made with fresh quality ingredients. The calamari and chips was a huge served and the chips were particularly good. Two could easily share it. Small sashimi had a very good range of fish, including octopus and squid. The barramundi was a large slab with the butter sauce served on the side. A nice chilled Chardonnay was the icing on the cake.
