The staff seemed uninterested when we inquired about it, which made us feel uneasy. The food was average but priced like a 5-star restaurant. Despite ordering immediately, we waited nearly an hour for our food to arrive, as it needed to be cooked by the staff since we all ordered the BBQ option. It seemed like our order was forgotten, especially when two other tables who arrived after us received their food first. Although the staff apologized, it didn't improve the slow service. When we received our raw food to cook, the other tables had already finished eating. When we went to pay the bill, we discovered many items we didn't order and were overcharged. After some discussion with the staff in Korean, the manager finally adjusted the bill. They took my card to process the payment, but I later received a warning from my bank due to multiple transactions on my card. It turns out they had processed the wrong bill initially before correcting it. I had to go back to the restaurant to sort everything out. Overall, I was unimpressed with the food and service, especially considering the high cost. It was not worth the $150 we spent, especially since my child could only eat the boiled rice as the meat was too tough. I would not recommend this place to friends as there are better Korean BBQ options in Southport. Unfortunately, other places were either fully booked or closed due to a public holiday, so we ended up here.
The new menu at this restaurant is disappointing. The traditional Korean dishes have been simplified and watered down to appeal to a broader audience, but the result is not good. The dumplings are no longer a standout, and the bibimbap is served cold instead of in a hot stone bowl. The fired boar dish has also been altered and lacks the same delicious flavors. It seems like they may have changed the chef responsible for the old menu that was once enjoyed by everyone. It's a shame to see such a drastic change in the quality of the food offered at this establishment.
I was extremely disappointed with the service at this restaurant. We tried to place an order 30 minutes before their advertised last call, only to be told that they were already closed. This has happened to us multiple times before. The food is good, but the customer service is extremely lacking.
We ordered the bibimpap (shell bowl). we have a lot of sweets about 1 tablespoon of protein/meat. the food was tasteless, although fresh. could do with much more meat w/ the dish. it felt like we had a vegetarian...Meal definitiw better bibimpap.
We went here last Sunday night and had the table bbq. We started with fried mandu dumplings these were quite nice and the sauce was yummy. We then had the beef bimbimbab dolsot, and the wagyu beef and marinated chicken on the table bbq....These were enjoyable although the beef was paper thin and the chicken was cut very thickly making it hard to cook even when cut with scissors. The small side dishes were nice and the service was friendly but nothing was memorable foodwise we have had many more much nicer korean bbq's at other restaurants.
