Chart House Golden

Chart House has no peer. They invented 'happy hour ' the way it was meant to be...joyfully happy. On a late autumn afternoon/ early evening, the setting sun cast it 's warmth on every full patio table and inside, standing room only. People laughed in groups, greeted strangers who sauntered by, as each guest received the best service known to man. Our charming server was just a delight, doing double duty serving and bartending. Happily, the handsome chap with the red beard, sorry, I am sorid with names , but what a perfect chap. Warm, kind and friendly, his modest reply, I enjoy what I do, is a mantra that embodies the spirit of Chart House, Genesee. They all seem to love what they do. Oh, have I not mentioned the food? Call Michelin; give this place a few stars. The price-graduating menu is unique and delicious from truffle fries, firecracker shrimp and lettuce wraps, through awesome spreads, fish tacos, and kim che calamari. Finally, for a mere $12...3 of the most delicious prime rib ! sandwiches. Yes, tender and topped with an onion mixture. Amazing. All the food was absolutely flying out of the kitchen at a record pace. If you are still hungry, head into the main diningt room. That bill of fare is off the charts, stunning. It is all a throw back to when dining out was eventful and hospitality at a premium. Yes, at 82, I 'm not a novice. I 've traveled the world and beyond. Chart House, Genesee, will still be there when I turn 100, they promised me , and hopefully, so will the staff that served myself and my husband last night. Go soon; you 'll go often.n

It has been a long time since we ate at the Chart House. We have often enjoyed Happy Hour there which is great. We decided to do dinner and were very happy that we did. Glad to see that the salad bar was once again open even though we did not use it this time. We will certainly return for another dining experience as there were many entrees we wanted to try. We also had a great waiter named San who added to our enjoyment.

I was surprised. I have been to several Chart House Restaurants over the years. There appeared to be only 2 -3 severs and they did not have any help with busing tables or refilling water/bread etc... We sat with dirty dishes for 30 min at a time and only removed by the server to the ledge behind us when food was coming out. We had empty water glasses all evening and didn't order more cocktails because the server didn't come back. She seemed to have all the tables. The food was Luke warm when it arrived. The windows were filled with hand prints behind us. For this type of restaurant and pricing, I expected a high level of cleanliness and service. I would not return to this location. I was very bummed with the visit.

Food was great, service was ok, but the food made up for the service..

Food and service are impeccable. The clam chowder is a great way to warm up on a chilly eve, can't go wrong with any of the fish or beef options (truly you just can't), and save room for the lava cake
