Doolittles Woodfire Grill

Dinner after a long workday should be enjoyable, not just average. There were three of us, and we started by ordering drinks, which were delicious and arrived quickly. We all chose a starter salad, and I have to say, that was the highlight of the meal for me. I ordered the ribs and chicken combo, but we weren't asked whether we preferred dark or white meat, and that wasn’t indicated on the menu either. My plate came with a quarter of a chicken, which was dark meat. While the ribs had a fantastic smoky flavor, they were overly fatty and quite chewy, so I wouldn't order them again. The sides were acceptable, and our server was excellent and attentive. I know they have some amazing dishes on the menu; unfortunately, I just didn’t get to experience one of them.

I recently had a great time during happy hour at Doolittle's. They had a solid selection of beers on tap, and I appreciated the option to try a flight. The happy hour appetizer choices were somewhat limited, but the spinach artichoke dip was delicious. Our main meals were quite good, although a bit pricey. The rotisserie chicken was excellent, and the salmon was cooked perfectly, complemented by top-notch maple bacon jam. The service was decent, but our server could have been more friendly and helpful. The ambiance is pleasant, although it can get a bit noisy due to the acoustics. The patio is absolutely lovely!

Definitely try the wings—they're outstanding every time! You won't find anything as good anywhere else. The spinach artichoke dip is also fantastic.

I had dinner at the restaurant tonight, October 14, 2023, and I was quite unhappy with my meal. I ordered the quarter chicken, but it was not at all what I expected. The potatoes and green beans were cold, and after trying the chicken, I found it to be greasy and fatty; I could only manage a couple of bites. Once I tasted that fat, I was done. I won't be returning and would like a refund. My husband and I spent over $65 on two dinners and two drinks, and it was not a good experience. Our date night turned out to be quite disappointing. I was respectful to our server, but it seemed like the place was too busy to provide proper service. - Tom Madson
