Pizzeria Hargarten - Gontenbad

I have been living in Switzerland for 4 years and unless you go to an international restaurant all the other ones you can find have the same menukarte then same flavours, specially if you are in the countryside. But this restaurant call today Esseria...Hargarten is quite of an exception! The place, decoration, service and every detail is perfect but above all... The food! Not an extense menukarte but every dish is something special. I ate tomaten soup with kokonuss icecream: delicious combination and later Papardelle with olives and cherry tomatoe: perfect balance of flavours, fresh and warm at the same time. For dessert a nice tiramisu. I tried a bit from my husband 's meal choice: crunchy ribs that melt in the mouth and as dessert a wonderful creme brule! Fresh homemade lemonade, several teas, kindermenu great and kinder room for play. A gem in Appenzell region!

This is a great Italian restaurant! It offers Antipasti, Pizza 's, Pasta, Fish Meat dishes and great deserts! The Prices are 'normal ' for Swiss standards. You for example get a coke around CHF 5, and Pizza 's between CHF 14, and 20, The size of the...pizza is huge, so you may want to consider taking a 'small ' pizza. The best thing about this Pizzeria is however that on Wednesday its 'Pizza day ' which means that every pizza is only CHF 11,90!!! Its definitely advisable to reserve on wednesday as were told to come back 2h later as they were fully booked untill then.
