Baker Boys Bbq - Gonzales

I ordered cole slaw but received potato salad instead. When I asked for mashed potatoes, I got beans. The brisket was dry and burnt, to the point that it was inedible. There was no ice for the tea or drinks, and the staff was rude.

I typically hit the down town square for BBQ but today I finally took a trip over to check them out. Brisket was cooked and seasoning correctly as they had pepper and other seasoning. I also had one link and some rib. The pork was cook oh so good just heavy on salt. This place has adequate parking for truck with trailers.

Very good. And i don't like BBQ. Their mac N cheese was great, too. There was a pork sandwich for around 6 bucks. Very lean, great bread. This is what Americans eat and nobody on the east or west coast is going to take it away. Just TRY to come and take it.

Not impressed at all. I asked for 3 fresh briskets baked potatoes. I told the lady I wanted the fresh brisket chopped because she asked and said I do not want the stuff already mixed on all the potatoes, all fixings on the side including the bbq sauce since one lady didn't want that on her brisket. What did we get, mushed premix bbq stuff, looked like out of a can or sloppy Joe. NOT Good at all!. Asked for the banana pudding and if they were pretty fresh, yes ma'am. The wafers were hard and stale tasting. I will not be back, definitely not worth 50.00 at all!! To bad it wasn't made right.

The place is nothing fancy. The food, though.. there's no shortage of good BBQ in the area and yet Baker Boys stands out. I went with the straight-up brisket and I was impressed. Prices are good, not high or low. Highly recommended.
