Unfortunately for us we were seated in Sydney's section she started out standard but quickly declined. She failed to pay attention missing a number of cues. When food was brought to the table(Medium Rare steak) my eyes locked on because I knew just by sight that it was over done she looked at me silently acknowledging my disdain and quickly retreated. She knew as well as I did that plate should've never made it to the table. It was sent back to be replaced and instead of her taking the plate, she required me to move all the meat onto a separate smaller plate that she returned to the kitchen. A busboy noticed I had moved the appetizer dishes to the end of the table because they weren't taken during the initial entree delivery. He took the dishes off my table within minutes. The second round of steak was medium well and still a disappointment, a $32 dish of which I only ate the vegetables. My water cup was empty for over 10 minutes and a refill had to be requested when she only came back to rush us along and ask if boxes were needed even though her section only had 2 other occupied tables. While I don't allow dishes to be taken off my check because I did order them regardless of my overall satisfaction it would have nice for her to offer seeing as how a plates of veggies would've cost me about $8 on average. She was given the standard 20% as a tip because we all need to work but I honestly would've preferred to have given it to the busboy. I did leave him the cash in my wallet at the hostess stand and wished I had more I would've thanked him personally but he was clearly focused on his job. It was my first visit to this chain on my companions recommendation and we were both disappointed, this was not her usual location. I will give Ah-So another try but definitely in a different location. Ending this on a good note my appetizer dish(Jalapeño Poppers) and my companions' meal(Seafood Plate) were both great.
This was an unexpected surprise. I think of sushi bars and I just think of fish everywhere. I'm allergic to fish so that is not a draw. I was pleasantly surprised how well they took care of me with my allergy. There was no filet fish grilled on the grill with my food. If somebody had ordered fish they had a backup plan on what to do to accommodate my allergy. I was very impressed. We went here for my daughter-in-law's birthday recently and had a grill side table. It was an unexpected delight to have someone cooking in front of us and making us laugh and enjoy the time even with other people at the table. We had a great time and the food was delicious. My son had a sake bomb which was a very generous portion. He basically gotsix drinks out of the one order. My steak and fried rice were grilled to perfection. My only complaint is there is so much better used on it. I'm dieting so that was A bit of a splurge.
Better than hiyashi!! Food, service, and atmosphere so relaxing and food was so good
Food had good flavor. Udon Noodles were good. Sedona sushi was tasty. Pork dumplings were good
Good experience overall but pretty pricey and the hostess was a joke! Told us we weren't allowed to order appetizers at the bar while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive for a hibachi table. So we went next door to the pizza place and gave them our money for appetizers instead! I could maybe understand this if the restaurant was busy but it was absolutely dead on a Monday evening. Ended up saving me money in the end so maybe I should thank her but I'd say it's a bad policy/unsmart move to miss out on additional business and income during this economy!
