Based on our previous experiences, I feel that the overall quality and experience has declined. Our waitress was very nice and attentive but the food was just ok and the ambience was poor. It was rather warm in the restaurant and the tables were crowded in together. We are not large people but to get out of our seats the person seated next to you would have to stand up, push their chair in, and walk to the front of the table in order for you to get out. People seated at other tables had to do the same. It was rather awkward and uncomfortable. Removing one table from each side of their dining area would make the experience much more pleasant. Despite having a reservation for several weeks we were seated at a table for four even though we were a group of five adults. The person seated at the end of the table had table legs in their way and didn't have enough space for plates, silverware, etc. When the food came it was tasty but included very little of the included protein. For instance my pasta and chicken dish had very little chicken compared to previous visits. Based on this most recent experience I'm not sure we'd go back or recommend Bella Luna to others.
It was delicious. I had the shrimp scampi and cheese tortellini, it was very good. We also had dessert. Cheesecake was ok. The cannolis were very good. I wouldn't describe the noise level as energetic, just loud; people talking. You can't help that. At least there wasn't loud obnoxious music playing like a nightclub in the 80s, which happens to be the norm for trendy nightclubs uh I mean restaurants these days. I'm not a fan of super loud music when you can't hear the person speaking sitting across from you. Another thing I'm not a fan of everything being a la carte. WHY? Paying $10 for a house salad is ridiculous and $8 for a vegetable side when the main dish is already slightly overpriced, another trend I see emerging from trendy hip restaurants. I would recommend this place to anyone, but I'd warn them of the prices.
The waitstaff here is top notch! The drinks were delicious. We came during happy hour and ordered the bruschetta. It was amazing! We also had the salmon special which was also delicious! We will be back.
