I had lunch today at the restaurant with friends the staff were friendly service was good, great food and wine I certainly recommend the restaurant and look forward to returning
The grounds were absolutely stunning!Unfortunately we attended to try to see what the food was like because we were looking to book this for our wedding. We found that the food was ok but not a lot for the money we paid. Also the time it took to get our food was quite long. The staff were not overly friendly and the owner of the property quite happily sat with other guests drinking. While trying to make the booking for the wedding Nelly who does all the correspondence didn't take the time to sit down with me as per the wedding brochure inviting us to have a sit down and talk about what we wanted instead Nelly took the brochure price and made it a fixed price. In fact the one day that I did call her she made it clear that she preferred that I only email her. $176 per head and no discounts for children like REALLY??? If we had less than 100 we had to have the wedding on a Friday and there was no discounts for having the smaller of the two venues on site. The same costs applied. This doesn't make sense because the second larger venue is much further away so you would think this would take more set up time. Basically because I wasn't looking to spend 20k I was not given the proper time and attention that I felt I was entitled to based on the large 10 15k budget I was about to spend. I really only wanted the location for the photos but after the lack of service I couldn't bring myself to pay them any money because I couldn't trust them to deliver the special day I pictured. We have happily found that the National Wine Centre in the Adelaide CBD have been more than accomodating, the photos we can get there and also in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens are going to be just as amazing and the price is $50 per head cheaper. WIN WIN WIN I SAY! Well for us that is...Response from the owner 9 hours agoAs per my last email, I’m surprised you feel this way, Robbie and yourself visited the property and had a personal tour with the owner, then prior to your Sunday lunch booking I let you know that I would not be able to sit down and discuss wedding options during restaurant service (which you said you understood) over the last month we have exchanged a phone call and 30 emails re a possible wedding.I have been through all our correspondence back and forth, in which I answer your questions, spell out exactly what our costs cover and even an email suggesting options for your budget.Yes I do prefer to correspond via email so no details that are discussed are forgotten, I’m sorry but I’m at a loss as to what more I could do.Regards, NellyMy Response 30/10/18Hi Nelly,We understood that we couldn't sit down with you on the day that we attended for lunch however even when I introduced myself to you so you knew who I was you brushed me aside. I even said to you that I understood that you couldn't sit down with me that day however wanted to introduce myself and you couldn't have left any quicker. The email correspondence I sent you explained that I was after a cheese platter for my guests but you never once included that in any of your correspondence hence my frustration because nothing was personalised even though I was clear in my correspondence as to what I wanted. At one point to help reduce costs I even suggested that we would be happy with using the resturant area so you didn't have to set up anything special for us but that suggestion wasn't aknowledged either in any of your replies. The amount of emails would not have been as many should you have met with us to personalise a package or actually responded to all the content in the emails.I don't know if you are just run of your feet and need more staff to help cover everything giving you time to spend with your bookings etc. or if you honestly just need to work on your inter personal skills. I hope that things there improve because the property is stunning and it would be disapointing to not see it continue due to poor management.
Always a great place to visit for functions can not wait to open it again
Trip-Advisor reviews give them a much more rounded idea of kingsbrook. If there are recurring themes or problems, it seems a little disturbing. I hope they can or have sorted them out as it is a nice place. our experience was not very good as with many other travel advisor visitors. When you say that you never know, you can improve them. as with any place it is my opinion that I would first carry out a careful research.
