We went to Blue Mountain in the morning and tried so hard to think of a place for a birthday dinner on the way back to the city. Luckily we found this restaurant here and called them to ask for reservation. The staff was so kind to arrange the details and also a birthday cake for us. Made the whole group a very enjoyable and unforgettable experience. The staff were very caring and we could still remember the smile of the waitress. For the food, steaks and ribs were impressive but their fries were suprisingly good! Entrees were very fresh. The atmosphere was just perfect for our group, in a less formal environment (compared with the dark candle light environment) with quality food. We all had an enjoyable light.
It doesn't make me happy to make a bad review, but when it's something as basic as 2 hamburgers and chips, and it costs $40 and it's awful, it's just very disappointing. One was a beef burger. So dry
There is no doubting what is the main focus of this restaurant and they know how to cook them meats. Their tenderloin steak was indeed tender and their pork ribs was well cooked and tasty. The plating is standard cafe fair. Meat and a bit of mixed leafs and a drizzle of vinaigrette is about it. Chips were excellent and servings were generous. However, the ambience of the establishment is a bit too relaxed. I can understand low key and casual but this place is a bit confusing. There are large murals on the walls, kid's colouring sheets on the counter, wine bottles over the counter, decent dining room furniture, it is a real mix bag. The service was also very casual. When you do get served, the wait staff was friendly and helpful but it is just as likely that they are hovering behind the counter and chatting with each other, The fact that she was wearing trackpants was not helping to lift the game. If you just want meat cooked well then this is THE place in Gordon but if you are looking for more than that then you might need to look further.
Restaurant was not busy but took a long time to order and then an hour later for food, fish was beautiful but lamb ribs fatty and basically inedible, mentioned this to wait staff but no redress, won't be back
I have fallen in love with the tenderloin steak. Been here a few times but each time, I have not been disappointed. Loved the mushroom sauce on the side. I'm more of a veggie person so I'm happy they let you swap the chips for seasonal vegetables. Definitely recommend to others!!
