Universal Tamal - Goshen

The food at this restaurant is wonderful and there is plenty of it! If you're in downtown Goshen, you must come in and try it. The prices are great and the staff is friendly. They also provide chips and delicious salsa.

Only gave it 3 stars because I haven't tried all the food yet. Normally, the first things I'll try at a mexican restaurant is the beans and the rice. If a Mexican restaurant can't cook good rice? Or beans, it's not worth trying the rest of the food. I did buy a dozen tamales

There are so many great Mexican restaurants in Goshen but Universal Tamal is by far my favorite. Fresh and flavorful food with a peaceful atmosphere. Get the steak tacos and cheese jalapeno tamales and you absolutely won't be disappointed. Love this place!

I usually visit this restaurant for a Mexican breakfast because they open at 9am on weekends. I enjoy dishes like Chiliquiles and Chorizo Burrito. Surprisingly, I find the beans here to be very tasty, even though I don't typically order them. The staff is always friendly and helpful when I have questions about the menu. The salsas are fresh and the chips are crunchy.

Universal Tamal has the best fresh salsa and their tamales are delicious! They've recently redone the interior and the new booths and round tables really add to the atmosphere. 10/10, highly recommended!
