Very nice and special place to stay in the middle of the forest - west south of Normandy. Very good and delighful food at a reasonable cost. Attentive and discret staff. It was perfect
Reheated food (one wonders how many times,) overcharged on drinks, waited half an hour before serving silly little £15 starter. France is now reliable for this these days. Never again.
It is difficult to choose the best thing about this restaurant. In a modern extension to a former Royal hunting lodge, the service is discrete, the food really delightful and the cost very reasonable. Looking out of the windows, the forest is floodlit at night and there is the occasional sight of a deer or other wildlife. The food is extremely well presented and cooked to perfection. The kidneys which was my main course were cooked just as requested and tasted sweet. The cheese trolley has a wide selection of both local and other regional products.Desserts which are ordered at the beginning of the meal are just as good as the earlier courses. For outstanding value, the menu at Euro 65 includes the four courses, an appertif (including the choice of a glass of champagne,) two glasses of wine (chosen by the restaurant) and coffee.
This restaurant is housed in a rather grand former hunting lodge and will appeal to the Horse
