It was freezing cold .. we left our jackets on and the little family next to us had to go back to their car to get sweaters. And what the heck have the "bean counters" done to the menu???? I am not sure who they feel their target audience is but they have missed the boat. Menu items are the same as in their restaurant in the Rothesay NB area, but the delivery is very inconsistent. They have taken a big step backwards.
We stopped here for gas and a bite to eat. The gas pump card reader did not work on 2 pumps. The girl (Kim) inside was too busy playing on her cell phone to bother noticing the pump wasnt working. I finially got her attention and oump was turned on. I pumped my gas then went inside to pay. Boy was i shocked when i was greeted like i was disturbing her. I you don't want to put the effort in to your job then quit.Next was the restaurant. What a frigging joke. 4 waitresses and maybe 10 customers. Every customer was pissed off as service was no existent. It took 20 mins to get menus, another 20 mins for a coffee and 2 waters. The meals was served cold. The manager was no where to seen. The waitress did not even know her own menu. And of course our order was wrong.Never ever stopping at this Irving Big stop again. It is the shame of the Irving chain.Maybe, just maybe a Irving rep should go pay them a visit and act like a customer....they will be embarrassed to have the Irving name on this place.
If you need a quick pick-me-up while travelling between Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, and Fredericton, New Brunswick, forget the fast-food chains and take the off-ramp at Great Falls to The BIg Stop. This rambling compound provides not only gas for your car but food for your belly in large portions that are nicely prepared and promptly served by a friendly wait-staff in a barn-like cafe known by travellers far and wide. Everything on the menu looks good, but it's the pies that ensure I'll return. Home-made comfort food the likes of which I rarely find these days, these gourmet treats--Butterscotch, Coconut Creme, Lemon Meringue, Chocolate: you name it--come at remarkably low prices. If you want pie like mother only WISHED she could make, don't miss this bargain. Yes, you can thank me: you will want to.
Very poor service food was terrible ,the manager would not even come to the cash when we wanted to pay stood there waiting until the waitress got done serving other customers ,very disappointed
We always eat here when we stay overnight in Grand Falls. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good. The portions are quite large for the price. Of course my favorite is the coconut cream pie. It is home baked, delicious and one piece is good for two. The restaurant is very clean as well.
