Flour Child Bakery - Grand Ledge

This bakery is one of our favorites ever! Everything we’ve tried is delicious. Our favorites are the BLT, quiches, raspberry bars, and anything lemon. We always look forward to the coffee. The staff is also really lovely. Highly recommend!

Don’t fall for the hype, save your money and go somewhere else! I decided to give Flour Child one more chance and they blew it, again! I ordered 4 pecan rolls (cost me $14) and they are burnt on the bottom and hard as rock on top! I can’t even use a fork to eat one of these! Either these have been made wrong (obviously since the bottoms are burnt) and/or they are old and stale as well. I’ve been here many times and have tried a variety of items on their menu; the coffee is watery, some of the gluten free items are gross and not at all like what they suppose to be, the cookies are average at best, and don’t even consider ordering hot chocolate. Even though it’s powdered hot chocolate mix they can’t be bothered to make that right either, mine was basically water. The only good things I’ve had here is the pumpkin pie cookie and their bagels are usually good. Definitely not the best bagels but if you are going to get anything here get a bagel. The atmosphere is cute and their decor is nice as well. Personally, it’s not worth the price and the quality is not there or hit-and-miss at best. 2/10, would not recommend!

We discovered this cozy independent local credible smelling bakery a few years back when we were doing a Habitat for Humanity ramp project in Grand Ledge. Then Covid hit. So when we were back in Grand Ledge doing another small ramp project we swung by to see if they had survived. We were so glad to see them open and with such an amazingly big choice of baked goodies. Looks like the baker uses their creativity every day to make a wonderful selection of cookies muffins bagels, bombs , croissants .... You get the picture!! Choosing is a huge challenge. We had a Brie and Blackberry bomb which is like a pretzel dough wrapped around chefs choice for the day. And we had a caramel apple croissant tower. Both were amazing. And the staff were super friendly. And it was a great place to hang around and enjoy our Elevenses. The lunch menu looked interesting too. Well Done!!!

Fabulous selection of the most delicious croissants, bagels, cookies, pretzels, sandwiches, soup, and other delectable treats. Made with fresh ingredients and care. The sugar cookies are decorated so beautifully and with such creativity! Wonderful service too!

I Love flour child! The people are extra sweet and friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable and fun! There is a variety of treats, and they're all so delicious
