Loved this place! The food was fantastic, we had Omelettes and baked goods two out of 3 days we were in town. The women that run this place are so friendly and down to earth! You have daughters, Mom, Grandma and Aunt all making this place what it is. The gift shop is fun to browse. Make this a must on your Grand Marais visit.Parking: Parking is conventional and
We stumbled upon this place while camping in Grand Maria's MI. The first morning, we ordered the build your own omelettes...the second morning, we did the same. They were soooo good, we couldn't imagine trying anything else, although the people around us raved about the French toast and Finnish pancakes. While we waited for our meal we were invited to browse the gift shop, which has many lovely things. We also left with some fresh from the oven cookies. The staff is so engaging! We visited with the owner, whose daughters, mom and aunt were also working and loved watching this very capable group of women make this business hum. Do not miss this stop!!
We were truly impressed with the genuine friendliness of the owner and her family. They love what they do and it shows. The food was outstanding! The breakfast pasty and gravy were delicious and the omelets amazing! So glad we stopped!
Now, about the food—breakfast was absolutely incredible! I had the breakfast pasty, while my mother chose the French toast. Both the bread and the pasty crust had a homemade taste that was simply delicious. One taste and you’ll want to savor every last bite. I highly recommend making the trip, even if it's a 30-minute detour for a meal. Every bite was worth it! **Kid-friendliness:** The lively atmosphere has plenty for children to observe, and the staff is fantastic with kids. **Parking:** There is standard parking available at the front, with handicap-accessible spots located at the back. When you enter the front lot, you can access the diner by walking up the stairs and around to the left side of the building, where the entrance is located at the back. **Wheelchair accessibility:** The front of the diner does not have wheelchair access, but there is parking available behind the diner, with a ramp that leads into the back entrance.
