I'm so excited that Wunderbar joined the North Shore scene. It's really a jewel, and I hope that they'll stay around for a long, long time. Update: I was here in the Glampground and would like to offer some information. So far, there were not many information on the website or FB page. I had many questions. Is cooking allowed outside? What do I do with coffee in the morning? An employee told me about the phone that there was no cooking in the campers, although ours have connected a stove and propane/power. We didn't get instructions when we reached the rules. So I brought a little camphord and cooked a few meals behind my camper. No one told me I can't, but I don't think she can. I made coffee on my stove in the morning, but they have coffee and pastries that I found out after the fact. Is this a child-friendly place? Yes and no. For dinner, absolutely. For Glamping... It is quite clear that this is an adult playground. Although there are many things for children. There were drinking and Shenanigans went around us until at least 2 a.m. when I finally went to sleep. But the children (8 and 9) slept through. We wanted to be quiet in the morning. Running water? No running water in the campers. The toilets in the restaurant are accessible during business hours and Porta pots for when closed. I brought a water crust, hand soap, paper towels and a bucket and set up my own washing station. But I'm so funny. They offer a discount when you bring your own beds. What are we talking about? I brought sleeping bags and a light blanket for each of us. The camper beds do not take regular leaves. I don't think I want to use their beds, but I'm sure some people don't mind. Are pets welcome? Actually, I'm still unclear. Although I can say that there is a dog living here somewhere with employees who apparently also live in one of the campers. The dog is running for the most time. So if you have small children, a dog that is not dog friendly, or if you don't like dogs, this could be a problem for you. He tried to come to our camper and our cooler from Essen a few times. Very friendly.
This facility is a must to stop for the next time in Grand Marais. All from food to service to the Glampers were hands down amazing!!!! A floor of 9 of us stayed overnight in the glass floor. The charming vintage trailers where warm when we arrived; that is important in mid-November. Greg started and stole the fire for us all night, even when we went in to eat. The food was fantastic!!! And the owner is a Hoot. She and her staff went beyond us. We all felt part of the family in this family business. I can't say enough great things about this place, and I can't wait to go back. Such a fast ride from Thunder Bay <3
Very different food with its own Glampground from ancient campers to the accommodation. Was very happy to see such a pet-friendly restaurant! There is an outdoor Pet Patio that even a menu for your Pooch! The staff loved our fur child. Menu is chef driven and very fresh! Even the sauces and dressings. Loved the delicious crunch on the wings with a spicy honey sauce. Only hot enough to get your attention. The miracle puffs were a leak similar to cream puppets. Fillings change daily. Very tasteful and creamy Parmesan for our order! Will definitely be our next North Shore visit again!
Awesome, unique and a blast! We had a very nice time. Sweet entertainment. The owners are very nice and do a great job.
