The Summit is an activity center/ recreation center hybrid with some social activities sprinkled in. They seem to have everything that one can imagine. A snack bar that serves beer and wine I didn't see any whiskey shots lined up on the counter so yeah, I guess just beer and wine. But the snack bar also has sandwiches and other snacks/soft drinks and is placed rightly near an outside viewing deck. The place appears to focus on Pickle Ball, a sporting trend that is picking up lots of rhythm nationally. There is a first rate elevated track, cushioned for a softer impact that rounds itself near some workout stations and a panoramic view of Grand Prairies foremost area of growth The Epic Central. And plenty of stationary recumbent bikes strategically placed both up and downstairs. The free weights and machines should be enough for anyone maintaining their physical fitness but these two areas are oddly separated by different floors. Speaking of floors, as I mentioned there are two (I think) with access by either stairs or elevator. My wife likes the pool and the adjacent changing room. She also got a kick out of the crafts room, well that's what I call it, its a sort of knick knack store where various artisans and otherwise skilled people bring in sundries to sell. Usually nonfood stuffs. They have a small movie theater. I dig movies and have developed a hefty lexicon of motion picture knowledge. I even watch silent films, unheard of in modern day culture. The movie rotation cant be shared apparently for licensing reasons and if you want to know what's showing they recommend taking a look at the website. I'm not 100% sure about that.Pool tables are intuitively placed near the entrance. There are a number of activity or event rooms here. The general lay out is pretty impressive, its obvious that the city spent some money here. Oh, getting around to money, admittance here is not free. It's a membership type set up with either monthly or annual payments. The primary downside to The Summit may be that they are understaffed and the hours of business sometimes changes, at least that's what I observed.
I joined about a month ago. Love it! I use the walking track and some of the numerous machines all in AC. Everyone is very friendly.
It' a great place for seniors. I take a wonderful water stretching class. There is exercise equipment, all kinds of classes, both fitness and fun. Everyone is really nice. There are lots of glasses and fun things to do there. I highly recommend it.
Great place to take care of your fitness and make acquaintances and or friends!
