Hopcat - Grand Rapids

My brother got a burger and the burger was dry and tasteless and his bacon was fatty.Me and my mom both got the Mac and cheese with crispy chicken and it was disgusting. The chicken was tasteless and felt frozen. The “cheese” was super runny. It was just noodles with runny sauce and frozen chicken.We barley ate any of the Mac and cheese and we complained about it to our server. All she said was that she likes it because she adds extra stuff to it like bbq sauce and pulled pork. She didn’t even offer to comp our bill or anything. I wouldn’t be as mad but it was 15 per mac and cheese and felt cheap. Overall the place felt cheap and dirty.

Food was good, burger and pretzel bites although there weren’t many pretzels. Nice space with outdoor seating. Bar service was not good. There were two bar tenders and they both stood on the opposite side chatting which made it hard to reorder drinks or ask for anything. Was not busy at the time we were there.

Very good service, knowledgable and attentive.• New Holland Tangerine Space Machine – a very good IPA• Cowboy Smash Burger: two smash patties, applewood-smoked bacon, fried jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, red onion, lettuce, tomato, haystack onions, and smoky bbq sauce.• Cosmik Fries: beer-battered fries sprinkled with their signature cracked black pepper seasoning; served with a side of warm cheese sauce.• Everything was delicious! Lots of flavors!

Awful!!! After nurse had told me how wonderful place this was it was a nightmare! Ordereding to be delivered was a 4 hour ordeal, food very cold, was no cheese for fries as I had been told, got cheeseburger with egg and bacon, dry fries ad I SPENT 29.00 plus 5 hours of my life gone for cod Nast food. Got to McDonands, checkers, anywhere else!!!×

If you're looking for great beer, cocktails, and excellent food, look no further!The building itself is quite nice, and once you step inside you can't help but look right to the back wall. They have a very interesting bottle cap mural that covers the whole wall. The booths are what you notice next. The booths have red faux leather and have an interesting shape that's hard to describe properly. There are also regular tables available. I would easily say this place is great for families, bigger groups, and couples.The atmosphere is laid back, and family friendly.The service was prompt, accurate, and very polite. (I wish I could remember out waitresses name. She did an excellent job.)I went with my mom for lunch and she loves the place as well.She had one of their spicy **** mary's and is hooked. Lol She says this is her new favorite spicy **** mary place and wants to go back all the time. I just had a fountian orange soda. We started our meal with the pretzel bites and beer cheese. They were very good. So much so I forgot to take a picture of them until they were all gone. Thats what is supposed to be in the pitcure of the empty basket. The outside of the pretzel bites have a bit of crunch and the inside is soft. The beer cheese they are served with is my favorite. It's not too spicy nor does is it taste like beer too much. My mom and I both got the killer Mac n cheese. I got mine with bacon and tomatoes added to it, and she had bacon and jalapeños added. The cheese sauce is so good and creamy. I must say, the name is quite fitting, because it was infact, Killer Mac n Cheese! After all that we were very full and happy.I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a great selection of beers and American food.Happy Dinning!
