Smashburger - Grand Rapids

Went there today after my son's appointment which was around 5 pm and was very disappointed. First the cashier was more interested in her phone than helping customers( we sat and watched people walk away). My husband had ordered smash fries with his meal and let's just say nasty. The cook claimed they were fresh and you could tell that he redropped them and then soaked them in oil. They were soggy to the point of oil was dripping out of the container. When nicely asked for fresh fries the cook argued with my husband that they were fresh and refused to make fresh ones. He then asked for a refund the cashier claimed she didn't know how. The manager was called and we were able to get our money back.

Shows they open 10am online. I called ahead just to be sure, they confirmed they were open. I got there at 10:55 (had to pay for parking), got inside they still weren't open. Service was not very friendly. Update: I got home and noticed my order was entirely wrong. Ordered a chicken avocado club. They gave me a cheeseburger. When I called back to advise a manager, the girl who answered the phone took down my name and address to send coupons. That was a month ago. I never received anything. General management seriously needs to take a look at who they’re hiring.

One of the best burgers in grand rapids. it's a little expensive, but they get what they pay, right? my favorite is their BBQ bacon smash. it is cherry BBQ sauce that is sooo good. their sweet potato friars are really good.

Best olive burger I've had in a while. Haystack onions are delicious. Salted caramel shake is even better! Service is not always great. Sometimes pretty slow even. The food is worth the wait. UPDATE: They no longer have the olive burger:

It's been a little while since my last visit, but I remember it quite well. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado and bacon. I can't remember the name of the sandwhich in particular. It was pretty good, but not great, definitely not worth the price I paid.I remember thinking I could get a sandwhich of equal quality at Wendy's for half the price. The fries here are REALLY good though, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 3. Customer service was also really good; the cashier was very kind, as well was the person who brought out my food.
